Why Jay Weinberg left Slipknot

Check out Jay Weinberg’s full post about his departure from Slipknot:

“I was taken aback and shocked to receive the call I received on the morning of November 5; the news that many of you would learn soon after. Regardless, I was overwhelmed – and truly grateful – for the outpouring of love and support I have received from this incredible community that I consider my artistic and creative home.

This is not the end of the journey I dreamed of and committed to, not by a long shot. But despite the confusion and sadness, there is something that gives me just as much comfort. For many of you reading this: 10 years ago we weren’t even introduced. And now we’re gone. For this I am grateful in ways I can never fully explain.

I love playing the drums. I always loved. I have always had a passion for music, art and creative expression. Nothing will change that.

I don’t know how and I don’t know when, but I can’t wait to create strong, passionate and moving music that we can enjoy together again. Until then, know that it has been the joy of a lifetime to spend the last 10 years with you, sharing our love for this special corner of the world of art and music.

This is not the end and I’m excited to see what the future holds. Thank you.”
