Guns N’ Roses singer reported for rape of model

Guns N’ Roses singer reported for rape of model

Singer Axl Rose of Guns N’ Roses is accused of rape by model Sheila Kennedy. The case allegedly took place in New York in 1989. Information about the trial was revealed by the AFP agency and Rolling Stone magazine.

“Rose used her fame, status and power as a celebrity and artist in the music industry to gain access to manipulate, control and violently assault Kennedy,” reads the complaint, which takes advantage of New York’s Adult Survivors Act to sue the singer. The law allows victims of sexual abuse to file civil suits out of time.

In the action, Kennedy reports that she met Axl at a nightclub, where he invited her (along with two other models) to continue the party in his hotel room. It was there that she cornered Kennedy as she was exiting the bathroom, “violently pushing her against the wall and kissing her,” according to her legal documents. The report states that the model continued to attend the party because she “found Rose attractive and she wasn’t entirely against the idea of sleeping with him.”

Shortly after, however, the singer began having sex with another of the models, which made Kennedy and the third girl present uncomfortable. In the lawsuit, Kennedy specifies that “he was unpleasantly aggressive and encouraged us to participate in the act, even though we demonstrated our opposition.”

Given the situation, Kennedy and the third model went to another suite, but then heard Rose screaming and breaking glasses and bottles. According to the report, the Guns N’ Roses singer entered Kennedy’s room and “pulled her by the hair,” dragging her across the floor into her room.

It was there that Rose threw Kennedy onto the bed and tied her hands behind her body using pantyhose. The model claims that, at that moment, the singer raped her, forcibly penetrating her anus.

“He treated her like property and used her only for his sexual pleasure. He did not use a condom. Kennedy did not consent to this act and felt helpless. She felt that she had no escape, that she was forced to accept what was happening. She believed that Rose would physically attack her, or do worse, if she tried to fight. She realized the quickest thing to do was lie down on the bed and wait for Rose to finish what she was doing,” the report reads. she adds.

Kennedy says he suffered PTSD symptoms after the incident and struggled with anxiety and depression in the years that followed, which affected his career.

The lawsuit also references the singer’s “history of abuse,” referring to the fact that two ex-girlfriends, Erin Severly and Stephanie Seymour, accused him of assault and offensive behavior in a 1994 People story.
