BTS: ‘Dynamite’ Passes 1.5 Billion Views

The music video for “Dynamite” is the group’s second to achieve the milestone

the video clip of “Dynamite” of BTS surpassed 1.5 billion views on YouTube. It is the second video of the group to conquer this number. the first was “Boy With Luv,” in April of last year.

“Dynamite” is also the video of BTS fastest to reach the milestone after launch, with a gap of one year and nine months. The song is one of the Korean group’s biggest hits, with about 1 billion streams on Spotify.

Just this week the group announced an indefinite hiatus to focus on solo projects. The announcement came during the FESTA dinner – an annual event to celebrate the group’s founding (via NME), while celebrating nine years of existence.


BTS’ Success: One of K-Pop’s Biggest Names

Since debuting in 2013, BTS – also known as bangtan boys – became a k-pop hit. Composed by RM, Jin, SUGA, J-Hope, Jimin, V and Jungkook, the group brings together an extensive discography with albums such as wings (2016), Love Yourself: Tear(2018), Map of the Soul: 7 (2020) and The Most Beautiful Moment in Life, Part 1 and Part 2 (2015).

In 2018, they topped Forbes Korea Power Celebrity’s list of most influential and powerful celebrities in South Korea. In 2021, they competed for the first time for the Grammy, in the category Best Pop Duo/Group Performance by the song “Dynamite,” the group’s first composition completely in English.
