Sabrina Carpenter: Priest is dismissed from administrative position after authorizing the singer to record a music video in the Church

The clip released in October this year features the singer dancing around a church in New York, in the United States

Sabrina Carpenter may have intended the priest Jamie J. Gigantiello to be expelled from the Catholic community in New York. According to the newspaper The New York Timesthe priest was stripped of his administrative duties after allowing the recording of “Feather”music video by Sabrina Carpenter, at Our Lady of Mount Carmel-Annunciation Parish.

The diocese stated that Gigantiello did not follow the correct policy regarding filming on Catholic Church properties, which includes scene reviews, and said she was “shocked” by the images taken by Carpenter in Brooklyn Parish.

After the filming, the diocese called on Bishop Robert J. Brennan to carry out a reparation mission with the aim of “restoring the sanctity of the church and repairing the damage.” A few days later, Gigantiello was relieved of his position as administrative supervisor.

Through Facebook, the priest asked his parishioners for forgiveness. He said that the team Carpenter requested the recording of the clip in September and approved the project to “strengthen ties between young artists” and the Catholic community.

To the The New York Times, Gigantiello he said that the final edition had not been presented to him and that the last few weeks had been difficult for him, the parish and the diocese. “I am deeply sorry for the incident that occurred and for any distress my actions may have caused,” he said.

In “Feather”released on October 31, Carpenter appears in a short black tulle dress and veil at Our Lady of Mount Carmel-Annunciation Parish. She walks, sings and dances from the central aisle to the altar, full of colorful coffins.
