Taylor Swift’s greatest virtue, according to the band that worked with her

The enormous success achieved by the American singer goes far beyond her talent as a singer, songwriter or performer

There is no doubt that Taylor Swift became one of the greatest pop artists of all time. There are several numbers proving this, from basic record and ticket sales metrics to impressive records that the artist has broken, especially in recent years.

To reach this level, you need a lot of talent — something that the American has in abundance, whether as a singer, songwriter or performer. But that’s not enough. It is necessary to bring together a series of characteristics that allow you to reach such a high level.

A virtue that transcends talent was highlighted by the vocalist Bear Rinehart as Swift’s most important. The American singer is part of the Christian rock band Needtobreathewho even opened for the pop superstar in the early 2010s.

In an interview with Classic Rock, Bear defined Taylor as “probably the most hard-working and consistent musician” he has ever met — which would be her greatest characteristic. This means that fans always receive the best show every night. Interestingly, it’s not something your band seeks out. Initially, he commented:

“During the tour, we learned a lot about what we wanted and also what we didn’t want. She might be the hardest-working, most consistent musician I’ve ever met.”

In Rinehart’s view, an artist of Swift’s level ends up leaving aside a little spontaneity to offer a show always at the same level. He even gave an example of something that Needtobreathe wouldn’t do, but that the singer probably does.

“We’re not the kind of band that’s going to rehearse exactly what we’re going to say in an empty arena, and then repeat that same thing at night. But she’s that kind of artist. And she deserves credit for that, because all those people in the audience get the best show every night. We are a little freer.”

Taylor Swift and Beatlemania

An American newspaper report The New York Times points out that “the center of a fragmented music world today can only be Taylor Swift”. And it gets to the point where even past stars recognize that the blonde is making history.

In a brief statement to the aforementioned newspaper, Billy Joel used the Beatles, always cited as the greatest band of all time, to make an allusion to Taylor.

“The only thing I can compare it to is the phenomenon of Beatlemania.”

It’s not just lip service. Joel, record holder for record sales with 160 million copies in the United States alone, was in the audience at one of Swift’s three shows in Tampa, Florida. The presentations were held on the 13th, 14th and 15th of April this year, at Raymond James Stadium. He made a point of witnessing the artist’s firepower with his wife, Alexis Roderickand daughters.

It’s also not the first time Billy has made this comparison. The singer and pianist stated in 2021:

“Taylor Swift is productive and keeps coming up with great concepts and songs. It’s huge and deserves the highest marks. She knows music and knows how to compose. She’s like the Beatles of this generation.”
