Ana Castela was sued for alleged plagiarism in the song “Solteiro Forçado”, released last July. The information was revealed on Wednesday morning (13/12) by columnist Fábia Oliveira.
The case was opened by Luan Kaique Vieira Castelan, who claims to have been a country music composer since he was 12 years old. The boy claimed to have composed a song called “Lado right da cama” (recorded on December 27, 2019), which has strong similarities with Ana Castela’s recent song.
In the documents, Luan stated that he was taken by surprise when he heard the nationwide success, especially since the similarities are not only in the melody, but also in the clips that the two produced for their works. The composer believes that this is blatant plagiarism and requests compensation of R$ 200,000 for moral damages, in addition to a public retraction.
Luan Kaique also called for protection for all digital platforms to withhold or reserve the revenue earned from Ana Castela’s track. He also wants the singer and others involved in the recording to be barred from singing “Solteiro Forçado” in shows until the case is adjudicated.
