Miley Cyrus’ cute reaction to seeing her godmother Dolly Parton’s billboard

Country veteran has a bond with the “Wrecking Ball” singer and claims to consider her like a daughter

Miley Cyrus has one of the coolest bridesmaids of all time: Dolly Parton. The legendary country singer not only has this bond with the young artist, but also followed her first steps in music — to the point of introducing her to her first major manager, Jason Morey of Morey Management Group.

Over the years, Cyrus and Parton they collaborated several times on music. The most recent was a joint re-recording of “Wrecking ball”, song of Miley, in the album Rockstarreleased by Dolly after she promised that she would make a rock-oriented album due to her joining the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

Released on November 17th, the album was promoted in several ways, including one of the most traditional: billboards. While passing by Hollywood Boulevard, in the United States, Miley saw a large promotional poster of the godmother and, in a really cute reaction, decided to stop her car to record a video in front of the promotional piece.

In the filming, the ex-Hannah Montana declared, while pointing to the billboard:

“That moment when you’re driving down Hollywood Boulevard and you see your godmother, the rock star Dolly Parton. I love you so much, aunt Dolly, congratulations on your rock and roll album.”

Dolly Parton put together a strong team for the Rockstar album. Mixing original compositions and reinterpretations, the artist simply brought to her album Paul McCartney, Ringo Starr, Stevie Nicks, Sting, Peter Frampton, Steve Perry, Elton John, Steven Tyler, Rob Halfordamong many others.

As already highlighted, Dolly decided to record the album after being inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. The singer even refused the honor, but the institution said it would not withdraw it, so she accepted it under that condition, as a kind of contribution to the musical genre.

In promotional material, Parton spoke about the work:

“I’m so excited to finally present my first rock and roll album, Rockstar! I feel honored and privileged to have worked with some of the greatest iconic singers and musicians of all time, as well as being able to perform iconic songs. It was a joy beyond measure. I hope everyone enjoys listening to it as much as I enjoyed putting it together!”

Dolly and Miley Cyrus

Dolly Parton became godmother of Miley Cyrus due to his friendship with the artist’s father, also a singer Billy Ray Cyrus. In a 2009 interview with Good Morning Americathe country veteran commented:

“I’ve known her since she was a baby. Her father is a friend of mine and when she was born, he said: ‘you need to be her godmother’. And I said: ‘I accept’. We never had a big ceremony, but I’m really proud of it. I love her, she is like a daughter to me.”
