Amy Winehouse’s father sues the singer’s friends for auctioning her personal items

Personal friends of the artist would have profited more than 4 million reais from the sale of personal items – which were not disclosed

Mitch Winehouse, singer’s father Amy Winehouse, opened a case against two of her daughter’s friends. Naomi Parry and Catriona Gourlay would have profited more than £732 thousand pounds sterling (around R$4.5 million) from the sale of the artist’s personal items, according to information from the DailyMail.

Amy Winehouseone of the most talented singers in music, died on July 23, 2011 as a result of alcohol poisoning at the age of 27, and left the administration of her assets in the hands of her father.

According to the vehicle, the two women had placed “several items of personal property belonging to Amy during his lifetime” in two auctions, held in 2021 and this year, respectively. It is alleged that by putting the items up for sale, the women “converted the late artist’s property to their own use.”

“The estate questioned how these items came into their possession and did not receive satisfactory answers,” he said in a note to the tabloid DailyMail.

The list of personal items of Amy was not disclosed. As indicated in the process, Naomi Parryone of the friends, would have to pay R$3.2 million (£534 thousand) in compensation to the businessman, while Catriona Gourlay would have to pay R$1.2 million (£198 thousand).
