Cher seeks conservatorship to manage her son’s assets

Singer Cher has filed for conservatorship to manage the financial affairs of her son, Elijah Blue Allman. According to TMZ, the artist says he is a drug addict and faces physical and mental health issues.

Elijah Blue is the son of Cher and Gregg Allman (1947-2017), of the rock group The Allman Brothers. The boy currently receives payments from a fund created by his father, but the veteran believes he could use the money for drugs.

According to the publication, Cher claims she was “unable to discuss Elijah’s preferences regarding the appointment of a temporary conservator” because he is unable to form or express an opinion on the appointment. The singer claims that, as Elijah’s mother, she is the best person for the position.

And there’s more!

Cher also accuses Elijah’s ex-wife, Mariengela King, of being a destructive presence in the musician’s life, to the point of preventing him from receiving help for his addiction and mental health. The two have already quarreled publicly after Mariengela accused the singer of kidnapping her son to send him to a rehabilitation clinic. The information was denied by the veteran.

The preliminary guardianship trial has been set for March 6, 2024.
