Fox News presenter created theory that Taylor Swift was part of a US government psychological operation
The Pentagon had to deny a theory created by Fox News that Taylor Swift would be working for the United States government. Making reference to a song by the artist, the spokesperson Sabrina Singh stated: “As for this conspiracy theory, let’s shake it off” (via NME).
“But this highlights that we still need Congress to approve our supplemental budget request as quickly as possible so we can get out of the woods with potential fiscal concerns,” he added.
At the beginning of the week, the anchor Jesse Watters suggested that the singer’s success would be related to her supposed position at the CIA, in a psychological operation: “Taylor Swift is the biggest star in the world… But have you ever wondered why it exploded like that?”
“The Pentagon’s psychological operations unit encouraged NATO (North Atlantic Treaty Organization) to transform Taylor Swift in an asset to combat online misinformation”, said the presenter.

Watters even showed a video dated 2019 that described how a Pentagon employee presented Swift NATO as a major influence. O Mediaitis, however, proved that the woman who appears in the video does not work at the Pentagon. She is actually a research engineer in applied physics at Johns Hopkins University who was giving a presentation at the NATO International Conference on Cyber Conflict.
In the same program, Jesse admitted that he had no evidence to support his theory, but still pointed out that the relationship between Swift with Travis Kelce it would be an act. He argued that the American football player used his platform to promote vaccines and recalled the time when the president Joe Biden confused Swift with Britney Spears.
