Chris Evans has “selfish” reasons for wanting Pixar to make Lightyear 2

WARNING: SPOILER for Light year If you haven’t seen the movie yet, go to the nearest cinema and go to work once you reach it.

now that Light year has finally taken its place in the landscape of 2022 film premieres fan of the toy story Legacy has a new way to enjoy one of your favorite characters. While Buzz Lightyear’s Chris Evans incarnation has begun a journey to a new frontier, it’s unclear what could happen in potential sequels. Which is good, because for very selfish reasons, Evans wants to keep playing in this particular universe.

I learned so much from talking to Chris Evans during the Light year print runs. Raising the question of whether the movie Andy fell in love with would have a sequel, the Marvel Cinematic Universe veteran didn’t hesitate to tell Gossipify the following:

I mean, I hope so, for very selfish reasons. Yes, there is a lot of space, there are a lot of places to go and a lot of great characters. So yes, I hope we will have the opportunity to explore them further.

If you had the chance to play another version of an iconic character like Buzz Lightyear, you’d probably want to keep him for as long as possible. No one can blame the actor for wanting to keep telling this story, especially since then Chris Evans’ enthusiasm for Light year It’s been there since day one. He might call it “selfish” because of course it means there’s more work in a concert that he really likes, but to the rest of the world, Evans is quite recognizable right now.

The end of Light year it certainly has a lot of potential when it comes to making sequels. At first glance, the fact that the film’s final shots see key elements of Buzz Lightyear’s lore falling into place is the obvious bait. With a ship reminiscent of the box, Andy’s toy has arrived, and the suits of the newly formed Protection Division of the Universe resembling the more familiar standard uniform we are all familiar with, the launch pad is pretty cool.

Beyond the royal bells and whistles, however, this Disney / Pixar spin-off has a pretty strong following for its title character. As it has now been revealed that a twisted alternate version of Buzz Lightyear himself is Zurg, who is very much alive in the post-logo sting, the continuing threat of Buzz himself still exists in Light years universe. With the complications that this twist brings to the table firmly established, the story of director Angus MacLane and the potential franchise of producer Galyn Susman has some very promising directions it can take.

By virtue of Chris Evans wanting to reprise Buzz Lightyear, a green light sequel wouldn’t be a crime. In case of Light year, this enthusiasm is equaled everywhere, as the universe is now duly ready to embark on another round. All that needs to happen is for Disney / Pixar superiors to give the order, and after all we could see what’s beyond infinity.

However, it may not be as easy a call as it sounds. Light year first weekend at the box office saw the film come in second place domination of the Jurassic world, which surprised both fans and critics alike. These next two weekends, and even the eventual launch of Disney +, are more critical than ever for Buzz Lightyear’s future.

Be it in front of or behind the camera, this toy story it is not finished yet. Light year it is currently going into infinity and beyond in a theater near you. The odds of these potential sequels actually happening are still being calculated, especially as the film enters its second opening weekend.

All of you Space Rangers will have to be patient and eventually revisit the toy story inheritance as a means of passing time; What is it Disney + subscribers can do at the time of this writing. However, if you are looking for the “right way” to experience this adventure, I can’t say enough about it 3d version of Light year .
