Britney Spears took to social media to apologize to her ex-boyfriend Justin Timberlake for statements she made in her memoir, “The Woman in Me.” The couple, who dated between 1999 and 2002, returned to the spotlight following the publication of the book in 2023, in which Britney addressed intimate aspects of her relationship with Timberlake, including an abortion in 2000.
In a post on Instagram, Britney expressed her regret: “I want to apologize for some of the things I wrote in my book, if I have offended some of the people I really care about, I sincerely apologize.” The singer also took the opportunity to praise Timberlake’s new song, “Selfish,” and shared her appreciation for the dynamic between Justin and Jimmy Fallon in a recent appearance on “The Tonight Show.”
Lance Bass, Timberlake’s ‘N Sync colleague and close friend of both, revealed to The Sun newspaper that the singer also apologized to Britney, indicating a reconciliation between the two. “They’re fine. They support each other,” Lance said, noting that past disagreements don’t reflect Spears and Timberlake’s current relationship. Lance stressed the importance of focusing on the present, where both artists demonstrate support for each other, rather than reigniting old disputes.
