Roberto de Carvalho, musician and Rita Lee’s widower, announces autobiography

Roberto, who composed great hits together with Rita, will have the support of journalist Guilherme Samora, who also contributed to the singer’s best-selling autobiographies

The musician and composer Roberto de Carvalho announced, this Monday, the 26th, that he will publish his autobiography. The work will have the help of Guilherme Samorajournalist and partner Rita Lee, who played the role of the ghost “Phantom” in the artist’s two autobiographies, clarifying facts about Rita’s career with names and dates. According to an article by journalist Lauro Jardim, the works should start in the second half of the year.

“It was difficult to contain my anxiety and now I can tell you: yes, Roberto is writing his autobiography!”, Guilherme announced on his Instagram on Sunday 25. Just like Rita’s books, Roberto’s work will be published by Globo Livros.

Rita Lee was a big fan of the idea. The singer encouraged “Rob” – as she called him – to tell his story.

Rita herself has been a best seller in her autobiographies. The first, published in 2016, was the best-selling nonfiction book at the time. The second, released posthumously in May 2023, was celebrated as the best-selling work on the Amazon website in the pre-sale phase.

Rita Lee and Roberto de Carvalho have formed a successful couple in their personal and professional life.
