In addition to the singer, the event’s production also confirmed Charlie Puth and Luedji Luna, who will welcome the Brazilians Xênia França and Tássia Reis on the Sunset stage
Shawn Mendes was announced on Thursday 3 July as the main attraction of Rock in Rio. The singer returns to Palco Mundo to close the last night of the festival, scheduled for 22 September. In addition to him, the production has also confirmed Charlie Puth and Luedji Luna, who will welcome the Brazilians Xênia França and Tássia Reis on stage.
“It’s been a long time since I performed live and I’m very excited to share that I will be the main attraction,” celebrated Shawn Mendes, mentioning his first performance at the event in 2017. This year, the singer will then take Ne-Yo on stage, already confirmed in the celebration of the 40th anniversary of the festival.
“I’ve really missed being on stage and seeing you all in person! I’m also working on a new album and can’t wait to play these new songs live for you. See you there,” Shawn Mendes added in the post.
Other attractions
The festival completed the program on September 19 with Charlie Puth’s performance at Palco Mundo, where there will also be performances by Joss Stone, Jão and Ed Sheraan as main attractions. The following day, the event will be entirely female and includes the presentation of Luedji Luna with the Brazilians Xênia França and Tassia Reis.
