Norah Jones releases her vibrant new album ‘Visions’

The singer, pianist and composer Norah Joneswinner of 9 Grammy Awards, she released her new studio album last Friday (8) Visions, collaboration with producer and multi-instrumentalist Leon Michels. The official music video was also released. Paradisedirected by Joelle Grace Taylor, celebrating the roller coaster of life. Visions is a vibrant and joyful set of 12 songs that represent the yang to the yin that was Pick me up off the floorJones’ final album of original music, released at the start of the pandemic in 2020, and foreshadowing many of the dark emotions of that time.

“When I first heard the songs from Norah’s new album, ‘Visions,’ it was evident that she had weathered the storm and emerged with an enlightened perspective.”, said Blue Note president Don Was. “He sings about being awake, wanting to dance, finally feeling free, being on the right path and accepting what life brings. “The reason I called the album ‘Visions’ is because a lot of the ideas came to me in the middle of the night or in those moments before going to bed.“, says Norah Jones. “We did most of the songs the same way: me on piano or guitar and Leon on drums – we were just improvising. I like the rawness between me and Leon, the way it sounds a bit ‘garagey’ but also a A little soulful, because that’s where he’s from, and he’s not too refined either.”

Jones sang the lead single, Race, earlier this week on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon and will make additional appearances on NBC’s The Today Show, and this Saturday, March 9, he will be on CBS Saturday Morning. The Visions tour will begin on May 6 and will take the singer through the spring and summer to various cities in North America (in the Northern Hemisphere).
