“Fri(end)s” is the fastest music video to reach 1 million views on YouTube in 2024
South Korean singer V, a member of the group BTS, has released the video for his new solo song, “Fri(end)s.” The R&B ballad with pop arrangement helps the singer express, at a slow pace, his desire to turn an old friendship into a romantic relationship. Unhappy while alone, his day is transformed when he is joined by a close friend, who prevents him from seeing all that is wrong happening around him – including his own death, in a metaphorical scene from the Samuel Bradley-directed clip (from clip of the band The 1975).
In its first few hours of release, “Fri(end)s” has already broken a few records, including the clip quickly reaching 1 million views on You Tube in 2024. In less than 24 hours, the video surpassed 7 million views. The single, in turn, became the biggest worldwide iTunes debut of the year, topping several charts and surpassing the performance of “Yes, and?” by Ariana Grande.
