Rock In Rio is approaching and the organization has announced three more attractions. The festival, which will take place on 13, 14, 15, 19, 20, 21 and 22 September, has chosen the Jornal Nacional to announce the news. This edition, in fact, promises to be historic in the celebration of the 40th anniversary of the event.
The first name announced by the presenters, William Bonner and Renata Vasconcellos, was Mariah Carey. However, despite her being a big attraction, the singer has been announced for a stage that isn’t that important at Rock In Rio, Sunset. In fact, the darling of South African pop Tyla will perform on the same stage, another artist confirmed by journalists.
Furthermore, the pair of presenters also confirmed Cyndi Lauper on the world stage. The announcement caused a lot of enthusiasm online, but the stages chosen for the presentations were not well received.
The event’s official profile posted a video of Mariah excited about the news. “I’m coming to Brazil! I’m very excited to finally return to Brazil and headline the legendary Rock in Rio festival, on the Sunset stage, on September 22nd. See you there!!,” she emphasized.
Finally, the festival also confirmed, on other occasions, the performance of Ed Sheeran, Ludmilla, Ne-Yo, Joss Stone, Katy Perry, Shawn Mendes, Imagine Dragons and several other names in music. All the attractions are in fact available on the official website of the event.
