Rapper Oruam pays tribute to his father, leader of Comando Vermelho, during Lollapalooza

Rapper Oruam attracted attention during his performance at Lollapalooza Brasil this Sunday (3/24), when he wore a T-shirt with the face of his father, Marcinho VP, and the word “freedom” written underneath. Imprisoned since 2006 for involvement in drug trafficking and appointed as a top member of the Comando Vermelho criminal group, Marcinho VP receives repeated tributes from Oruam (Mauro backwards), who began to have success in 2021.

“Just the cry of a son who misses his father,” wrote the rapper, posting images of his performance at the festival on Instagram.

“The Best Dad in the World”

The rapper, whose real name is Mauro Davi dos Santos Nepomuceno, was just 5 years old when his father was arrested. In December, Oruam told his followers that he had tattooed his father’s face on the left side of his chest, as well as the face of his “uncle” Elias Maluco, convicted for the death of journalist Tim Lopes and found dead in the federal prison prison of Catanduvas (PR), in 2020.

Despite defending his father on social media, Oruam stresses that he “had nothing to do” with the crimes committed by Marcinho VP. However, the rapper claims that Marcinho VP “is the best father in the world” and that he often visits him in prison in Paraná. “I go to visit my father and he becomes a fool. He says that the policemen there tell him about me, that I went to Neymar’s house. Imagine for him. He suffered like hell, he is there, paying for everything he did . Nobody can say anything. He’s my father,” Oruam said in an interview on the PodPah podcast.
