The singer went on to say that her fellow musicians who release their work in this format also end up “waste” in producing the material for these records, most of which are collector’s items to increase sales.
Eilish says its releases in Vinyl records count on recyclable packaging and that, therefore, help reduce carbon emissions by 90%.
“The standard black variant is made from 100% recycled black vinyl. The remaining seven colored vinyls will be made from ECO-MIX or BioVinyl. The first is created from 100% recycled composite made from scraps of any color that cannot be used in another module”explains Eilish THE scoreboard.
And it continues like this: “These pieces are recycled and reused for the production of future records, so each record will be unique and will look different from the previous one. Additionally, Billie is using recyclable compost for the colors of her one-off LP, collecting all the scraps from the first pressing from reuse in subsequent additional runs. BioVinyl helps reduce carbon emissions by 90% compared to virgin vinyl by using non-fossil fuel materials such as used cooking oil or industrial waste gases, while maintaining the same audio and optical quality as conventional vinyl.

And he concludes: “I can’t even express how wasteful this is. We’re in front of our eyes and people are getting away with it left and right, and I find it very frustrating as someone who’s really trying to be sustainable and do the best they can and trying to engage all my team members in being sustainable – and then there are some of the biggest artists in the world making… 40 different vinyl packs that have something different and unique just so you can keep buying more.”
