The project is an incentive for Brazilian popular music with support from the City of Rio de Janeiro
A Cities of the Arts turns 11 years old next May, and in celebration, they announce the project Sound Thursdays. Aiming to enhance Brazilian popular music, the project debuts on May 9th and will feature the artist Mart’nália in Quartet.
Every Thursday, until August 1st, the Sound Thursdays will take place at 8:30 pm at Teatro de Câmara, one of the main cultural centers in Rio de Janeiro. So far, the artists’ presentations have been confirmed. Maria Gadú, Toni Platão, Evandro Mesquita and Arnaldo Brandão in the months of May and June.

The project Sound Thursdays is a collaboration of City of Arts with the Municipal Secretariatof culture, recognizing music as a strong cultural and heritage element of Brazil. Offering a cultural experience to the public of Rio de Janeiro and bringing great national artists.
With the capacity to receive 439 people in its space every Thursday, tickets for Quintas Sonoras are available for purchase through the platform Simple.
