Avril Lavigne revealed the only song he would like to have in his own catalog. In an interview with the podcast Gregg, Freddy & Daniellethe singer also talked about the tour with Machine Gun Kelly and the warm reception from fans to his new album, Love Sux (2022).

If there’s one song I wish I had written, it’s ‘Bitch’in Meredith Brooks.

The irreverent music of brooks came in second in the Billboard Hot 100behind “I’ll Be Missing You”tribute song to Notorious BIG in Puff Daddy & faithEvans ft 112 – although some DJs can’t even say the title on air, as noted Gary Trust.

The “Love It When You Hate Me” singer also noted that while she’s never covered the 1997 hit, she’s definitely looking forward to it. During the chat, Lavigne also talked about what it feels like to sing his old songs and still have fans excited to hear new productions.

This tour I’m doing right now with my new album Love Sux…I feel, like, really grateful. I think that’s the main feeling. And just being able to sing my old songs and still get the response that they get, and along with the new songs… It feels so good.

In fact, the pop-punk pioneer is currently celebrating the 20th anniversary of her debut album by let go (2002) with the iconic singles “Complicated”, “Sk8er Boi” and “I’m With You”.

Avril Lavigne has dates scheduled to perform on Brazilian soil after 8 years without visiting Brazil. The singer starts the shows in São Paulo, on September 7th, and goes to Rio de Janeiro, where she will headline the Rock in Rio on the 9th of September.
