DJ surprised by sharing dietary advice that was not pleasant — and without scientific proof
For those who don’t know, jet lag is the name given to time zone change syndrome. These are physical and psychological problems caused by changes in the biological rhythm of 24 consecutive hours — which occur when traveling to a place in another time zone, very different from where you were.
Artists who travel a lot, like Calvin Harris, you know very well what that is. O DJhowever, found a curious way to “counter” the effects of the problem in question.
In an interview with BBC Radio 2’s Zoe Ball Breakfast Show (via Music-News), Harris He said he carries six raw eggs in his carry-on luggage whenever he goes on long trips. According to him, consuming the food in question means that jet lag is not felt.
Initially, he said:
“I was on a British Airways flight just a few weeks ago and the flight attendant told me she had never seen anyone crack eggs and pour them into their mouths on the seat. But I did. That’s what I do.”

Then, the artist said that he does not consume the egg completely. Only the yolk is swallowed.
“I like to remove the egg white, so I just make the yolk raw. I think it eliminates jet lag.”
Are you kidding me, Calvin Harris?
Like anyone else, the presenter Zoe Ball was incredulous at the report. The first question was: Calvin Harristhat’s a lie, isn’t it?
Worse than the DJ guarantees to be true. He adds:
“Just put them in your bag. I’m surprised they get through security because to me that’s a liquid thing. But it was never, ever flagged.”
Despite Harris’s confident report, there is no evidence that raw eggs are a cure for jet lag. Experts recommend that passengers get a good night’s sleep before the trip (about two hours earlier or even more than that, depending on the destination, to get the body used to it), drink plenty of water, avoid heavy meals and alcoholic beverages and respect the adaptation period — including during the flight, trying to keep up with the time zone of the place you are going to.
