The singers MARIANNA and Sylvia Nazareth, Alcione’s niece, release the new single “Me Deixa Remember”. Inspired by jazz and, above all, by Amy Winehouse, the song continues the work that MARIANNA had already shown in the previous single, “Por Uma Noite Só”, influenced by house music.
With all instruments recorded in the studio organically, “Me Deixa Remember” is about love and unassuming relationships: “This song is for everyone who was involved, who was loved behind closed doors, but never accepted on the street . I feel like I just had to talk about it because unfortunately this type of relationship has been a part of my life countless times, which is unfortunately very common among black women,” says MARIANNA. The song is the first musical collaboration of the two.
With the EP Não Podemos Te Esperar, released in September 2022, MARIANNA has consolidated herself as a promise on the national pop scene, combining Rio pop, R&B and funk with deeply personal lyrics and a sophisticated visual production, signed by Leandro Rial. Prior to the EP, MARIANNA had already attracted attention with the original singles “Deixa Ir” and “A Culpa é Sua”, as well as her performance of Alcione’s “Meu Vício é Você”, which earned her praise Marrom. Her talent and versatility were evident not only in her studio recordings, but also in her performances, such as in the MARIANNA: Ao Vivo project, and in her impressive debut at Whiplash Bar, São Paulo.
Sylvia Nazareth mixes theatricality and music. She starred in the global soap opera Cheias de Charme and in the musical shows “Dona Ivone Lara-Um Sorriso Negro”, by Elisio Lopes, and “O Anti-Musical”, by Tauã Delmiro; she as well as having recorded the duet “À Sombra do Teu Sorriso / The Shadow Of Your Smile” with Alcione in the show “Boleros”. Sylvia just released her original EP, 2003, and is gearing up for new shows in the first half of 2024.
