Poderosa took advantage of the launch announcement to leave an emotional message about the prejudices against funk
Anitta released her long-awaited album, “Funk Generation,” this Friday (4/26). The new album contains 15 new tracks, including a collaboration with Sam Smith. The songs are now available on all digital platforms.
After announcing the launch, Anitta left a message in English to present her new work to an international audience: “Funk is part of the culture of those who live in the Brazilian favelas, where I come from. It has already been judged worthless and even also linked to organized crime. This is a reflection of the class prejudice and racism that pervades our society,” he wrote.
“Today I feel satisfied to see that funk is a source of inspiration in the Brazilian and global music scene. A genre of value, rewarded and admired. I hope you can have fun, dance, sing and celebrate the power of Brazilian funk with me! ”, concluded Poderosa.
