Singer Andrezinho announced that the group Molejo will release a new album in the second half of this year. The news was revealed last Sunday (28/4), during the funeral wake of singer Anderson Leonardo.
In a statement, Andrezinho revealed that his colleague actively participated in the new project, which will contain a revisitation of the greatest hits and should be titled “O Paparico do Molejo”. The album has already been recorded and will feature the special participation of Xande de Pilares, Thiaguinho and Dudu Nobre.
“He [Anderson] He was always very hyperactive, thinking two steps ahead. He organized a lot of things, he directed practically everything. We re-recorded a lot of Molejo stuff, there are also new songs and new reinterpretations of some old stuff,” Andrezinho said.
“We had a problem on the day of the official recording due to rain, and all the artists were willing to stay. It’s a project that we cherish with the greatest affection in the world. It was his dream to do ‘Paparico do Molejo’,” he said. added the musician.
Death of Anderson Leonardo
Anderson Leonardo’s death occurred at the Unimed hospital, in Barra da Tijuca, in the western area of Rio de Janeiro. The musician, 51, had been battling a rare cancer since October 2022, when he discovered a tumor in his groin region. After three months of treatment, he announced his recovery from the disease. However, in May 2023, a new diagnosis highlighted the presence of metastases to the testicles and Leonardo has been under treatment since then.
In September last year, the artist was admitted to hospital for treatment of a pulmonary embolism and remained in intensive care for 11 days. At the end of February this year he returned to hospital with severe pain and complaining of feeling unwell after a show. Leonardo underwent alternative treatment and gastric nerve plexus block to control chronic pain.
He returned to hospital ill on April 22, where he was admitted to intensive care due to worsening cancer. In serious condition, he died four days later. The musician’s death was mourned by fans, friends and professional colleagues.
