Rock in Rio brings together 55 national artists to record music for the festival

The meeting brought together Ivete Sangalo, Pedro Sampaio, IZA, Jão, Luísa Sonza, Ludmilla, MC Daniel, Péricles, Alcione, Carlinhos Brown, Xamã, Xande de Pilares and musicians from Sepultura

After announcing an entire day dedicated to Brazilian music, Rock in Rio brought together 55 national artists for an unprecedented action. Together they recorded the video for a song made to celebrate the festival, “Deixa o Coração Falar”. The meeting was motivated by the long-awaited celebration of the 40 years of history of the event, born as a rock festival in 1985.

The meeting brought together, among others, Ivete Sangalo, Pedro Sampaio, IZA, Jão, Veigh, Daniela Mercury, Jorge Aragão, Luísa Sonza, Ludmilla, MC Daniel, Péricles, Alcione, Carlinhos Brown, Diogo Nogueira, Ana Castela, Buchecha , Xamã, Xande de Pilares, Jorge Aragão, Maria Rita, Mc Cabelinho, Marvvila, Duda Beat, Rust and rare representatives of national rock, Dinho Ouro Preto (initial capital), Frejat (ex Red Barm), Paulo Xisto (Sepultura), Andreas Kisser (Sepultura) and, come on, Rogério Flausino (Jota Quest).

For those who weren’t around at the time, the original Rock in Rio was the beginning of the Brazilian rock explosion in the 1980s, with performances by Paralamas do Sucesso, Kid Abelha and Barão Vermelho. Globo also made a special report to accompany the Paralamas newcomers as they anxiously awaited their first show in the stadium. Additionally, Cazuza singing “Pro Dia Nascer Feliz,” in an echo of the Diretas Já movement, was one of the most striking images/messages of the event.

The festival’s “We Are the Brazil” (sic) style clip is not yet scheduled to be released.
