The electronic music duo inaugurates an exhibition at the Sonar festival in Bracellona
On May 24, the Spanish festival Sónar and Casa Batlló will host the world premiere of Music:Response, a new experimental audiovisual installation by the electronic music duo The Chemical Brothers and Smith & Lyall, artistic directors of the duo. The inauguration of the exhibition kicks off the activities of Sonar, an avant-garde festival that brings together music, art and technology in the city of Barcelona, Spain. Music:Response opens at THE CUBE, a collaboration between Casa Batlló and Sónar, a 360° audiovisual space in Gaudí’s iconic building.
The artwork features iconic characters and abstract images and plays with sensations such as tension and release. Inspired by the tradition of “visual music”, it offers a visceral and synesthetic experience that allows visitors to feel the transformative and liberating power of music.
Sonar will take place in Barcelona, Spain on June 13, 14 and 15. And there have already been Brazilian editions, in which Bjork, Cee Lo Green, among others, performed.
