Slim Soledad connects LGBTQIA+ roots and pride in Transmission

Based in Paris, the artist mixes techno, baile funk, electro and hard trance

The international flagship of Time Warp, Primavera Sound, Dekmantel and Boiler Room, Slim Soledad has become synonymous with innovation in global electronic music. Combining contemporary art references with Latin images and sounds, he mixes techno, baile funk, electro and hard trance to create a sound that is distinctly his own. While waiting for his new EP, Slim Soledad releases the single “Transmission”. Listen to “Transmission”.

Born in Guarulhos, she began her artistic journey in the vibrant culture of music and dance, a journey that took her from São Paulo’s dance floors and fashion culture to global stages. She danced with the Russian feminist group Pussy Riot and with Linn da Quebrada. Despite his move to Paris, Slim’s Brazilian roots remain a central part of his music and activism, as evidenced by his work with the Ch3rnobyl collective, a testament to resilience and pride for the LGBTQIA+ community in Brazil and appreciation for dissident organizations.

By transforming a pejorative term into a symbol of pride, the collective stands out as a beacon of pride and resilience. In a society where being different is often met with hostility, the collective tackles these prejudices head on, celebrating diversity through music and dance – a journey of knowledge and self-love represented in “Transmission”.

Slim Soledad’s music has already led to partnerships with brands such as Prada and Burberry. His work includes, in addition to music, performance and visual arts.

The single is available on all streaming platforms via Unity Group.
