The artist was supposed to perform at João Rock this Saturday, 8th, but was hospitalized because he didn’t feel well at home; he was also one of the attractions of the Salve O Sul Festival on Sunday 9th

The band Detonators paid tribute to the singer Lulu Santos this Saturday, 8th, during the festival John Rock, in Ribeirão Preto, in the hinterland of São Paulo. Lulu was supposed to perform at the event, but she had to cancel the show after feeling unwell at home and being hospitalized in Rio de Janeiro last Friday the 7th.

“We were all surprised today by Lulu Santos’ absence from the festival,” he began Tico Santa Cruz, singer of the band. “We wanted to take advantage of this moment for everyone to ‘give off good energy’ so that Lulu can recover and come back soon. We miss you very much, Lulu Santos. Everywhere, my friend.”

Afterwards the group played Just another love, one of the artist’s greatest hits. Names such as Djavan, Ney Matogrosso and Os Paralamas do Sucesso also performed at the festival.

The news of Lulu’s hospitalization came through a note released on Saturday by the singer’s press office. In addition to the show at João Rock, the artist had to cancel his performance at the Salve O Sul Festival, in favor of Rio Grande do Sul, this Sunday, 9th, at Allianz Parque, in Sao Paulo.

The singer is hospitalized at the Clínica São Vicente, in Rio, and, according to the team’s statement, his condition is stable. Preta Gil is also hospitalized in the same place for a urinary infection and, like Lulu, she had to cancel her participation in the Salve O Sul Festival.
