Author of hits of different genres, Mark died with his family in the United States

Composer Mark James, author of classics such as Suspicious minds In Elvis Presleydied at the age of 83 last Saturday, 8th, in Tennessee, United States.

Mark has composed for artists of different genres, such as Jay Z, Pet shop guys and Willie Nelson. In 1969, Elvis rented the same studio where the composer worked, in Houston, to listen Suspicious minds and decided to record the song, which became a hit in the American singer’s career.

In the late 1980s, the song was covered by the Pet Shop Boys and earned Mark a Grandmother, as well as reaching the top of the charts. In 2014 he was inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame.

The family released a statement saying Mark “was an engaging storyteller and had the kindest smile, the most contagious laugh and a sparkle in his eyes that never went out.” The cause of death was not revealed.
