Two activists were arrested after breaking into the airport area where Swift’s private jet was
The private jet Taylor Swift became the target of protests by Just Stop Oil activists. On the morning of this Thursday, the 20th, they invaded the runway at London Stansted Airport and spread orange paint over several private aircraft.
Video posted on social media shows a woman cutting through a fence to enter the track. Then she appears throwing paint at planes. On social media, Just Stop Oil announced:
Jennifer It is Paste cut the fence at the private airfield in Stansted where @taylorswift13’s jet is parked, demanding an emergency treaty to phase out fossil fuels by 2030.

Cole Macdonald added:
We are living in two worlds: one where billionaires live in luxury, being able to fly on private jets, far from the other, where uninhabitable conditions are being imposed on countless millions of people. Meanwhile, this system that allows extreme wealth to be accumulated by a few, to the detriment of everyone else, is destroying the conditions necessary to sustain human life in a ‘cruel summer’ that rapidly accelerates and never ends. Billionaires are not untouchable, climate degradation will affect each of us.
The plane of Swift it was no longer parked at that airport at the time of the raid, police reported (via NME). There are records, however, that indicate that the singer’s jet landed in Stansted at around 11 pm last night.

An Essex Police spokesperson said two women, one aged 22 and the other aged 28, were arrested.
The airport stated that “runway operations were suspended for a short period, but no flights were affected.”
The chief superintendent of the airport, Simon Anslowsaid: “We are not anti-protest, but we will always act when criminal acts are done.”
