Country duo surprises fans by singing five songs at Jorge & Mateus show in Goiás
Simone and Simaria surprised fans by taking the stage together this Saturday (6/7), during a Jorge & Mateus event in Goiás. The show marked the first time the sisters have sung together since the duo split in 2022.
Exciting reunion
The meeting happened unexpectedly and the sisters sang five songs for the audience, including the hit “Meu Violão eo Nosso Cachorro”. Simaria came on stage accompanied by Simone’s youngest daughter, Zaya. “Who is there these days who loved Simone and Simaria? Do you want to hear something we have prepared for you here?” Simone asked before starting the show.
Simaria was touched by the reaction of the duo’s fans, who went crazy. “Today I came to see my sister. I missed you, I don’t want to leave,” she admitted.
Surprise impact
According to journalist Leo Dias, Simaria told Simone that she would attend his show that afternoon. The decision to perform together was made a few hours before the event, with a surprise not only for the fans but also for them.
The reunion has had a major social media buzz. “Greatest country duo,” one commented. “That’s beautiful, man,” another said. A third added, “I’m shaking all over.”
End of the duo and solo career
Simone and Simaria announced the end of the duo in August 2022, after rumors of unclear disagreements. Simone has since launched her solo career, with her debut album released last year. Simaria, in turn, is still planning her solo debut, with no release date set for her new album.
But after Saturday’s show, fans are speculating whether they’ll sing and record together again.
