Singer Raissadaughter of Mr. Catra, is ready to follow in her father’s footsteps in music with the release of her first EP, entitled “Amores e Desamores”. The project, composed of seven songs, promises a strong message of female empowerment and will be available on digital platforms from this Thursday (18). The cover features an iconic photo of her.
The EP takes listeners on a diverse musical journey, covering styles such as pop, trap, dap, drill and love song. Raissa emphasizes that her musical style is difficult to label. “We are very used to always separating things into specific boxes, but I usually say that my musical style is music. I don’t limit myself and I have never limited myself… This is well translated in my EP, which reveals a lot about my identity as an artist”the singer told Extra.
He also highlights the influence of his father, Mr. Catra, on his career: “In addition to reflecting a lot of the legacy left to me by my father, because, in his own way, he was always a guy who allowed us to express ourselves as we wanted. And so, like him, today I use my art to communicate with the public, who can expect a certain amount of suffering from this project, with a pinch of empowerment and a lot of recovery”.
The EP “Amores e Desamores” includes the songs “Juízes de internet”, “Outra vibe”, “Very decisión”, “Oi amor”, “Vai e volta”, “Te wish” and “Vida livre”. The release will also include the official video for “Outra vibe”, the title track, which tells of a relationship marked by male infidelity and the consequent remorse of the partner, who realizes too late that he has lost his “girl”.
Raissa hopes that her songs will resonate especially with female audiences: “I hope that the audience, especially the girls, can identify with each other. Because the songs, even with all the bad situations they bring, also convey a vision of women always in power, who understand their phases and know how to assert themselves in each of them”said the singer.
