Snoop Dogg was chosen to be the last bearer of the Olympic Torch before the opening ceremony of the Paris Olympic Gameswhich takes place this Friday, 26th.

The mayor of Saint-Denis, Mathieu Hanotinused Twitter to reveal that the rapper will carry the torch through the streets of the Parisian suburb, where the Stade de France, the largest stadium in France, is located.

“Saint-Denis, last stop before the Eiffel Tower! An international cast of @SnoopDogg for the final journey of the Olympic flame,” he wrote Hanotin. Snoop also took to social media to make the announcement: “Are you ready?”

Snoop Dogg will still cover the Paris Olympic Games NBC. “The global star will be in Paris to provide updates for the Olympic Primetime Show,” the network announced. “He will explore the iconic city’s landmarks, attend Olympic competitions and events, and visit with athletes, their friends and families.”
