The Brazilian singer competes with two different recordings in the categories of Best Latin Music Video and Best Video Editing
MTV announced this Tuesday (8/6) the list of nominees for this year’s VMA (Video Music Awards). Anitta has been nominated twice in the Best Latin Music category and could win her third consecutive award in the category.
The Brazilian singer has consolidated her presence in the category with two recent hits, “Mil Veces”, from the album “Funk Generation” (2024), and with “Bellakeo”, released in collaboration with Mexican singer Peso Pluma. Despite the double, she faces strong opponents, such as Shakira, Cardi B, Karol G, Bad Bunny, as well as Myke Towers and Rauw Alejandro, with whom she also shares other musical collaborations.
Anitta is also competing for Best Edition with the video for “Mil Veces”.

Despite the Brazilian artist’s unprecedented three nominations, American artists continue to be the most revered. Taylor Swift leads the list with 10 nominations in several categories, including Artist of the Year, Song of the Year and Best Director, where she is competing for awards for “Fortnight,” a collaboration with Post Malone. Ariana Grande, Sabrina Carpenter and Eminem follow with six nominations, while singers SZA and Megan Thee Stallion also have highlights in five different categories.
Voting will open this Tuesday (6/8) on the official VMA website.
