Although the film offers a lot of entertainment, the heart of the story is Hiro’s relationship with Baymax. The bond between the two is incredibly endearing and something that continues in the recently released Disney + spin-off series. Speaking of which, during a chat with Scott Adsit about the show’s party, he explained to me that he would like a sequel to the big screen to introduce a change in the dynamics of the two characters:
You know, before this project, I would have said I wanted to see Nurse Baymax more often. She truly fulfills that need. So I think I’d like to see Baymax and Hiro find new ways to connect. They are best friends, but maybe Hiro is getting old and his life is distracting him. And maybe he and Baymax need to find a new way to connect. It would be interesting for me, I think. Because Hiro is his main patient and the most important person in his life. So I’d like to see this friendship challenged and then defended again.
The actor makes some very good points. While the animation field could technically allow Hiro to stay 14 years for the foreseeable future, it would be interesting for him to age. something that the toy story the movies have taught us is that children change as they grow up. Hiro obviously isn’t as young as Andy when he started this franchise, but the premise remains the same. The idea of ​​the young genius moving away from Baymax as he gets older is intriguing, and putting them in a position where they need to reconnect could be fun and heartfelt.
