Police step up security for Coldplay concerts
After the cancellation of the showsTaylor Swift in Vienna due to a threat of a terrorist attack, the Austrian police have stepped up security measures for the band’s concerts Coldplay. The presentations will take place at the stadium Ernst Happelthe same venue where Taylor Swift was scheduled to perform before the threat.
The singer’s concerts were canceled on August 7 after the arrest of three men suspected of planning an attack. One of those arrested was allegedly involved in setting up the stage.
This situation has generated a lot of concern regarding the events scheduled at the same location. According to Philipp Hasslingera spokesman for the Vienna police, “enhanced security measures have been ordered and implemented” to ensure the safety of Coldplay’s concerts.
Among the actions adopted are the increased police presenceboth in plain clothes and in uniform, who will be mobilized during the shows. In addition, police cordons on the stadium access roads and exclusive parking for authorized people. Workers involved in the production of the events will also undergo security checks, and fans will be able to be searched at the entrance of the stadium.
Despite concerns, a police spokesman said there was no threat at the moment. Organizers are expecting an audience of 60,000 people each night, and tickets are already sold out.
“Viewers should not be deprived of the pleasure of attending shows,” the spokesperson said.
These will be the first major events held at the Ernst-Happel stadium since the cancellation of Taylor Swift’s performances.
