Production will be shown exclusively at the Sphere arena
THE U2announced the release of an immersive concert film titled V-U2 An Immersive Concert Film at Sphere Las Vegas. The premiere will take place on September 5th, and the production will be shown exclusively at the arena Spherein Las Vegas.
This is the same arena where U2 played a series of shows between September 2023 and March 2024. These shows were part of a residency, meaning the band played the same venue multiple times during that period.
Directed by the guitarist The Edge in collaboration with Morleigh Steinbergthe film aims to give viewers an experience that is as close to the live show as possible. According to The Edge, “the goal was to give viewers an experience that was as close as possible to the actual show — and then some,” he said in a statement.
The shows performed by U2 in SphereBetween 2023 and 2024, they pioneered some of the arena’s technologies, which allow the creation of immersive 360-degree images and feature a state-of-the-art sound system. V-U2 It is the first film to be shot entirely using the ultra-high-resolution Big Sky camera system, developed by Sphere Entertainment.
