Known as the drummer of imagine Dragons, Dan Platzman announced his departure from the band in a post made on social media last Wednesday, the 21st. In addition to the American pop rock band, he also played in jazz groups, such as Berklee Concert Jazz Orchestra, Urban Outreach Jazz Orchestra and Berklee Rainbow Big Band.

It is worth remembering how Platzman entered the imagine Dragons in 2011, three years after the creation of the band led by the singer Dan Reynolds. In the formation, he replaced Andrew Tolman. As of yet, the group has not announced a new drummer.

“After an incredible journey of over a decade, I will be leaving the incredible band that is imagine Dragons,” the artist wrote in the statement. “I wanted to share my deepest gratitude to you, the fans, for your unwavering support and for sharing the joy of music with me. Connecting with all of you has truly been the highlight of this chapter.”

“I’m excited to share more soon about the projects I’ve been hard at work on over the past few months centered around my greatest passion: film scoring and composition. I promise you’ll be the first to know. Stay tuned,” he continued. Dan Platzman.
