On August 28, 2009, the group would participate in the Rock en Seinein France. The Bloc Partywho showed up before the scheduled time Oasisannounced, however, that the British group would not perform. Two hours later, Noel stated via the band’s website:
It is with some sadness and great relief… that I leave Oasis tonight. People will write and say what they like, but I simply cannot continue working with Liam for another day.
In another statement, days later, Noel said: “The details are not important and are too numerous to list. But I feel you have a right to know that the level of verbal and physical intimidation against me, my family, friends and comrades has become intolerable. And the lack of support and understanding from my management team and bandmates has left me with no option but to pick up my cape and seek new life.”
The previous show, on August 23, was also cancelled because Liam contracted laryngitis. The band was supposed to go on stage at V Festivalin Chelmsford, England. In an interview conducted in 2011, Noel stated that, in fact, his brother had a hangover. Therefore, Liam sued him, but after an apology from Noelthe action was archived.

Liam Gallagher reflected on the end of Oasis and admitted that the argument he had drunk with his brother, Noelwas not reason enough to end the band’s activities in 2009. He even stated that he could get over what happened and offered to “send a box of chocolates” to Noel so that they could meet again.
In an interview with The Sunday Times (via NME), Liam recalled the year 2009, when he used one of Noel “like an axe” backstage at a concert in Paris. “I love my brother, I love my family, and all that mess of Oasisthere was no need, you know? Maybe someone might get a little irritable on tour. Maybe someone might drink a little too much. But we didn’t need to break up because of that,” he said.
