Now, the audience from Minas Gerais and São Paulo who will go to the festival will be able to embark in their own regions and disembark directly in Cidade do Rock (RJ)
As Rock in Rio approaches, the demand for tickets to the wonderful city tends to increase. Guanabara and Primeira Classe, the official transport service of the event, have just signed a partnership with the aim of making life easier for those traveling from other Brazilian cities exclusively for the festival: boarding and disembarking directly in Cidade do Rock (Barra da Tijuca, Rio de Janeiro). The trips will take place aboard luxury buses, equipped with technologies that guarantee greater safety, in addition to a comfortable and practical travel experience.
Daily departures will take place on all days of the festival in the cities of Juiz de Fora (MG), Belo Horizonte (MG) and Barbacena (MG), São José dos Campos (SP), Taubaté (SP) and Guarulhos (SP). “This partnership is great news for our passengers. Now, in addition to traveling with the comfort of the bed or semi-bed categories of our fleet, they will have the convenience of disembarking directly at Cidade do Rock, where they will be able to enjoy amenities such as bathrooms and food trucks while they wait to return home”, comments Letícia Pineschi, marketing director of Guanabara.
The company, which already operates more than 2,000 destinations in Brazil through its associated brands (UTIL, Sampaio, Brisa, Real Expresso, Rápido Federal and Expresso Guanabara), expects a significant increase in the number of trips during Rock in Rio “Nas For routes from cities closest to Rio, such as Juiz de Fora and the south of Minas Gerais, we expect an increase of more than 50% of our movement on regular regular lines. We will also take advantage of the intense movement to register new customers of the loyalty program, Viva”, explains Pineschi. Those interested in purchasing direct travel tickets to Rock in Rio, from these destinations, should access the official website of the partner at connection.
In addition to the impact on mobility, the operation should help increase tourism in Rio de Janeiro during the festival. According to Alfredo Lopes, president of HotéisRIO, hotel occupancy is expected to increase in the city. “Most of the Rock in Rio audience is young people, and the tendency is for hotel occupancy to increase as the event approaches,” he says. HotéisRIO data indicates that, in the first week of shows, the city is expected to reach an average occupancy of 54%. In the second week, these numbers are expected to remain high, according to projection of the entity.
Expresso Guanabara, Real Expresso, Rápido Federal, UTIL, Sampaio and Brisa buses have begun to adopt a single corporate identity since 2023: the GUANABARA brand. The decision to make this move was driven, among other reasons, by the increase in the portfolio of national destinations, making it easier to identify customers who now have access to the different categories of services. The group is one of the most important in road transport in Brazil. It currently employs more than 5 thousand workers and operates in more than 2 thousand Brazilian regions, mainly in the states of Goiás, Rio de Janeiro, São Paulo, Minas Gerais, Ceará, Pará, Paraíba, Piauí, Maranhão, Rio Grande do Norte, Rio Grande do Sul and the Federal District. More than 320 million reais have been invested in the fleet, from 2022 to date, by the company.
