Barack Obama Praises Charli XCX’s ‘Brat’: ‘Great Album’

Last Thursday (5), the former President of the United States, Barack ObamaHe talked about including music 365 by Charli XCX on her summer playlist and said she is a fan of the singer.

It was on the podcast I had it and I was asked about the “Bratsummer”.

“I just posted my playlist and it’s ‘365,’ and… [Brat] It’s a fantastic album. People sometimes wonder if I’m actually listening to all this music. As I’ve already testified, I am. Charli XCX knows what she’s doing.”, he said.

Obama also said that she gets advice on her musical choices from her daughters, Sasha and Malia. She explained that they are “undeniably a little more up to date.”

“I have a group of young employees who occasionally give advice,” he continued.

According to People, Obama released her summer playlist on August 12, along with her summer reading list on Instagram.

With summer coming to a close, I wanted to share some songs I’ve been listening to lately – and it wouldn’t be my playlist if it didn’t include an eclectic mix,” he wrote, listing songs and artists he likes. “I hope you find something new to listen to!”

It’s worth noting that the summer playlist is filled with current hits, including Texas Hold’Em From Beyonce, A (drunk) bar song From Shaboozey AND CHIHIRO From Billie Eilish.

Complete the list, Silviofrom Bob Dylan, Where did our love go?of the The Supremes AND (I can’t get a no) Satisfactionof the Rolling Stones.

It is worth mentioning that the former president is known for sharing playlists. In November 2020, he posted a playlist of “memorable songs” of his presidency on the occasion of the launch of his memoirs.

The trend”“Bratsummer” emerged in June, with the release of the self-titled album Charli xcx. Having a “summer of brats” means being an It Girl who makes everything look easy in the process.

“You’re like that slightly rowdy girl who likes to party and maybe say a few stupid things sometimes. Who feels but maybe also has a nervous breakdown.”Charli explained in a July TikTok.

“But he likes to party, he’s very honest, very direct. A little fickle. Like doing stupid things. You’re a brat, that’s being a brat,” concluded.

The concept of “BratSummer” has become an even bigger cultural phenomenon following Joe Biden’s decision to drop out of the presidential race and his endorsement of Kamala Harris. Charli posted “Kamala is a brat” on X (formerly Twitter) that night, which means it was a compliment.

A few weeks later, he told New York magazine that he had published it as “something positive and happy” and I didn’t expect it to go viral like this.

“My music is not political. Everything I do in my life is reflected in my art”added Charli. “Everything I say, wear, think, everything comes back to my art. Politics does not fuel my art.” finished.
