In ‘Estadão’, the singer and composer spoke about the feeling of performing at the festival 40 years later

First artist to perform at the inaugural edition of Rock in Rio performing in this commemorative edition of the 40th anniversary of the festival, the singer and composer Lulu Santos71 years old, he entertained the audience of Cidade do Rock at the “matinee” (as he called it) this Saturday 14th.

Lulu opened her show promptly at 4:40pm, singing Every form of love. Then he added other hits and, before singing Like a wavehe mentioned his show on January 13, 1985.

After the presentation, Lulu told the State who, that first time at Rock in Rio, was dissatisfied with his performance. “I left with a bad feeling, because I thought it didn’t go well,” he said.

He was only three years into his professional career and at Rock in Rio he had the opportunity to see the presentations and professionalism of foreign artists. “The artist I am today was born in 1985,” he said.

After 40 years, the feeling after this Saturday’s show was “happiness and duty fulfilled,” he said smiling. The artist returns to the event on September 21 to sing ‘Brazil Day’, dedicated only to national attractions, on the occasion of the show Pop Forever alongside names like Jão, Luísa Sonza and Ivete Sangalo.
