After technical failures, Arnel Pineda asked his fans to decide whether to stay in the band
Arnel Pineda, lead singer of the band Journey, has once again spoken out against the criticism directed at their performance at Rock in Rio, held on September 15. The singer said he was “aware” and “devastated” by their failures on the world stage. He also asked his fans to decide whether to stay in the group.
“No one in this world feels more devastated than me by this,” Pineda wrote on his Instagram. “It’s truly incredible how a thousand right things you’ve done will be forgotten just because of this… and of all places, it’s at Rock In Rio. Mentally and emotionally, I’ve already suffered and am still suffering… But I’ll be okay.”
The singer also said he would leave the band if “a million” comments asked him to leave. “I’m offering you now (especially those who hated me and never liked me in the first place) the option to just write ‘Stay’ or ‘Leave it here,'” he fired.
Pineda had already commented on the criticism after the performance at Rock in Rio: “We were not perfect, especially me,” the Filipino singer said, days after the show. Despite the barrage of criticism, fans are calling on the artist to remain in Journey.
