Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs: 50 Cent is producing a documentary for Netflix about the star’s crimes

The two rappers are rivals. For years, Curtis Jackson, aka 50 Cent, has criticized Diddy and shed light on the accusations and controversies surrounding him

The case of Sean “Diddy” Combs will be the subject of a series of documentaries by Netflixwhich is already produced by rapper Curtis Jackson, better known as 50 cents. Arrested on the 16th in the United States, Diddy, also a rapper and music producer, is accused, among other crimes, of sex trafficking and extortion and is awaiting trial.

The American magazine Variety confirmed Netflix’s involvement in the series on Wednesday the 25th, but 50 Cent had been talking about the project for longer. In early December 2023, production of the series was confirmed. At the time, Diddy had already been sued by four women, one of whom was his ex-girlfriend Casandra “Cassie” Ventura, with whom he had reached a settlement, the details of which were not disclosed.

“This is a story of significant human impact. It is a complex narrative that spans decades, not just the headlines or videos seen thus far,” 50 Cent and director Alex Stapleton said in a statement.

Proceeds from the documentary will be used to support victims of sexual violence. “We remain steadfast in our commitment to giving voice to the voiceless and presenting authentic, nuanced perspectives. While the allegations are disturbing, we ask everyone to remember that Sean Combs’ story is not the complete story of hip-hop and of its culture. Our goal is to ensure that individual actions do not obscure the broader contributions of that culture,” they added.

50 Cent and Diddy have been feuding for years. The former had already criticized Combs, in relation to the accusations against him, long before the arrest took place.

Another figure who has spoken out about Diddy’s alleged crimes is rapper Eminem. In July he released an album containing at least three songs with indirect or nominal mentions of his rival, citing some of the controversy now making waves on social media. (to see the text).
