Funkeiro spoke out after images showing violence against the mother of his daughter were leaked
Singer MC Ryan SP spoke out this Saturday (28/9) after the leak of images showing attempts to attack his ex-girlfriend, Giovanna Roque, mother of Zoe, the couple’s daughter, who is currently nine months old. Published by Leo Dias, the images are captured on a CCTV video screen in the artist’s home and show MC Ryan SP kicking and throwing a suitcase at Giovanna, who tries to protect herself on the floor. The alleged assault reportedly occurred in April, at the funk singer’s home, when the couple’s daughter was three months old.
In a video published on social media, the funk singer apologized to his ex-partner and to the women who felt affected by the scenes.
Statement and apology
“I wanted to start this video by asking for forgiveness from Giovanna, from my daughter, from Giovanna’s mother, from my mother and from all the women who will see this video,” MC Ryan said. The funk singer acknowledged that he lost control at certain points in his life. “I wasn’t a loyal person to my family, to my relationship, and I left room for certain types of things that were beyond my control and that of my partner.”
In a tone of regret he also stated, “I am sad, overnight my life has changed. I want this storm that is occurring in my life to serve as a learning experience.”
The singer also said he was surrounded by friends who didn’t give him the right advice, but promised to get through the difficult time: “I’m going to change things. For everyone watching this video right now: I’m not a bad person , I’m not a bad person.”
Giovanna Roque defends her ex-boyfriend
In the video he calls Giovanna his “wife” and says that the two still live together. She announced the end of the relationship on the 12th, after just over a year.
Giovanna Roque also intervened in the episode on Friday (9/27), defending MC Ryan in a video posted on Instagram. “Ryan is not the bad person you think he is,” the influencer said. She confirmed that there was an argument during the couple’s last breakup: “Ryan had made a mistake and then, that day, I really lost my temper, I was very nervous.”
Giovanna revealed that the image was leaked after “cameras at her house were entered”, describing the situation as an “absurd persecution”. MC Ryan himself addressed the issue in his video, claiming to have been under surveillance for months: “This person has videos of me changing, of my wife changing, of seeing intimate details of my life and my family” .
Professional consequences
After the leak, MC Ryan’s press office, Caldi Comunicação, announced the termination of the contract with the artist. Additionally, some of his presentations were canceled due to the fallout from the case.
