“New scene” aims to reveal a new national rap talent
Netflix announced on Wednesday (10/02) 20 famous artists who will animate its first musical reality show, “Nova Cena”, focused on the search for a new name in Brazilian rap. The guests are big names of the genre: Azzy, Bob13, Dallas, Dexter, Ebony, FBC, Iza Sabino, Jottapê, Karol Conká, KL JAY, Laudz, Marcelo D2, Maru2D, MC Luanna, Negra Li, NINA, Sidoka, Vulgo FK , WIU and Zegon.
The production wants to raise the level of competition by bringing together some of the biggest stars of national rap, with the aim of discovering an artist who represents the new generation of the genre.
Format inspired by “Rhythm & Flow”
The programme, consisting of six episodes, will follow the format of the American hit “Rhythm & Flow”. The recordings took place in the cities of Belo Horizonte, Rio de Janeiro and Sao Paulo, where judges Djonga, Filipe Ret and sisters Tasha and Tracie reside respectively. The jury will have the task of guiding the contestants in the competition, which aims to launch a new national rap talent.
Prize and special participation in “Sintonia”
The winner of “Nova Cena” will take home the R$500,000 prize and win a special appearance in the fifth season of “Sintonia”, one of Netflix’s most successful series in Brazil.
