Ashton Nicole Casey, known as Ashnikko, arrives in Brazil for shows in São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro in the coming days
When Ashton Nicole Caseybetter known as Ashnikko in the world of music, postponed two shows that would take place in the first half of 2024, fans who bought tickets regretted the news because they would have to wait a long time to see the artist up close. However, this delay made up for it in a way, as the show is more rounded, in addition to taking place during the month of Halloween, an important period in the artist’s career.
During an interview with Rolling Stone Brazil, Ashnikko she regretted that she is unable to come to the country, one of the countries that listens to her music most frequently on streaming, for logistical reasons. The first and last time he arrived here was in 2022, for Lollapalooza.
“I love my Brazilian fans. They are so passionate and very dedicated to the tradition of my music and very excited to get involved with all the new things that come out,” said the singer, who really enjoys listening to Brazilian funk songs, Pablo Vittar and Luisa Sonza. “It really feels like a very loyal group of people, which I’m very grateful for.”
For the shows in São Paulo (which takes place this Tuesday, 8th, at Audio) and Rio de Janeiro (October 9, at Sacadura 154), Ashnikko feel like you are in a “special” moment, because you are in the final part of the era Weedkillerdebut album released in 2023. Tickets for both performances are available on the website Eventim.
I’m so excited to be here on my own terms. The last time I was here, in Lollapaloozait was great, but I didn’t get to meet my friends DemiDevils one by one. So it’s really special to be able to do that. I love doing shows. It’s my favorite part of the job. I’m really excited to share these spaces and meet people connected to my music.
Not just songs from Weedkiller or the mixtape DEMIDEVIL (2021), considered by herself as the real first album of her career, but the setlist should also be marked by the special Halloween singles known as “Halloweenie,” released over the past few years — something that wouldn’t happen if the show took place in early 2024.
“It’s very difficult to bring the full scale of the show because touring becomes more and more expensive for artists,” he said. “It’s a shame we can’t bring full production. But I’m doing my best and bringing my heart.”
Speaking of Halloween…
In a post made on Instagram, Ashnikko announced the EP titled Halloweenie I-VIdescribed as the “sixth and final entry (in the near future)” of the commemorative singles released almost annually since 2018.

“I’m not going to say I’ll never make a song again. Halloweenbecause I probably will,” he explained to Rolling Stone Brazil. “It got to the point where I was just making a song for the sake of making a song, and it didn’t feel like I was in love with it anymore. And the quality of the songs suffered a little.
I think the ‘Halloweenie‘ this year is my favorite of them all. I’m really proud of this one.
Second Ashnikkoit’s hard to write songs that feel natural, authentic and inspiring every year around the same theme: “I just wanted to give myself a little flexibility to let this kind of song come naturally, because I’m sure I’ll write another one.”Halloweenie,”I just don’t know if I can commit to this every year from now on.”
To end this phase with a flourish, the singer will release, on October 31, 2024, a vinyl made with Vasso Vu. For the singer, in Halloweenpeople can delve into their own shadows. In her view, it is one of the most important periods of the year.
“It is a time to deepen my spirituality and practice of witchcraft. It’s a time to celebrate the changing of the seasons, the natural world going into hibernation,” he said. “As much as I love the flowery months of spring and summer, I really enjoy the rest of the world in the Northern Hemisphere. It feels very haunted, but in a beautiful way.”

Musical influences, style and different visuals
Since the beginning of his career, the sound of Ashnikko It doesn’t have a 100% defined form, with traces of pop, rap, emo and even nu metal. According to her, one of the great joys of being a musician today is being able to play with musical genres in a free way.
“Most pop artists really play around and I take risks in that sense,” he noted. “Most of today’s biggest artists don’t limit themselves to one genre. The music scene right now is really spectacular and very unique.”
All of the singer’s art comes with a unique look and world-building. With a lot of influence especially from anime, Ashnikko pays homage, with his stage persona, to characters such as Jinx, Harley Quinn and Tank Girl.
The visual side of my music, music videos and the way I dress is just another medium to tell a story. I like it when you approach it that way, not as something that reinforces the song, but as a sister to it. I love creating the visual world for my music to live in. It’s as fun as making music for me.
Speaking of Jinxthe 28-year-old artist recently released a song that is part of the original soundtrack for the second season of Arcaneone of the main animations of Netflixbased on the game universe League of Legendsdeveloped by Riot Games.
Despite not playing the game, Ashnikko She was deeply impacted when she watched the series for the first time, with family and friends. What stood out to her, for example, was the animation style, narrative and character development.
“I was really amazed. I remember watching it and putting this intention in my head: ‘I’ll be on the soundtrack for season two.’ When I put my mind to something, I get really obsessive and really make it happen,” she recalled. “I was like, ‘Call my manager, put me on this soundtrack. We have to make this happen. This needs to happen!’ And it happened.”
I really wanted to play a role on the soundtrack for Jinx. This character and my own stage personality are closely linked. A lot of my previous songs could also fit. It was almost as if I was writing it before I even knew it.
