Former One Direction singer served as a judge in the production ‘Building the Band’, which does not yet have a release date
The singer Liam Payne was directly involved with the recording of the reality show Building the Band shortly before his death in early October.
Former member of One Direction, Payne was found dead on October 16 after falling from the third floor of a hotel in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
According to preliminary information, the police were called to contain “an aggressive man” at the scene, who could be under “the influence of drugs or alcohol”. Upon arriving at the hotel, officers confirmed the singer’s death.
The artist served as a judge in the production of Netflix. Building the Band follows singers who, without seeing each other, try to form a successful band.
The series also stars Nicole Scherzinger, Kelly Rowland and AJ McLean as presenter. Building th Band has not yet received a release date and its future is even more uncertain after Payne’s death.
Indefinite future
According to information from the American magazine Peoplethe show’s producers were shocked and saddened by the loss of Liam Payne. They also said that it is still too early to make any decisions about the future of the series, such as a possible postponement or cancellation.
The team also commented on the artist’s behavior during filming. According to the producers, Payne did not have any problems and was satisfied with the experience, indicating that he would like to continue working with the participants even after recording ended.
Liam looked so genuinely happy to be on set. He looked healthy and was smiling in all his interactions with fans, signing things and talking to them between takes. He was having a great time doing what he loved and showed no signs of underlying problems,” said a set employee.
The comment was made in response to speculation that a partial autopsy identified high amounts of drugs in the singer’s system. The information, however, was denied by Argentine prosecutors, who claimed that the data was not released to the press.
After the accident, Nicole Scherzinger – which, in addition to working with Payne program, also played a key role in shaping the One Direction – posted a tribute on social media.
Dear Liam, I will always cherish and cherish the time we shared together, from fifteen years ago when One Direction was born, until a few weeks ago. It was a blessing working with you recently. We shared the same love and passion for music and I will always remember the meaningful and joyful conversations we had.”
“It was very difficult to process that you are no longer here, but I am grateful to have known your kind heart, your sweet soul and your character,” continued the former star of the group. Pussycat Dolls.
