Quincy Jones, musician, composer and producer of great artists such as Michael Jackson and Frank Sinatra, died at the age of 91, last Sunday, 3 years.

The death was confirmed by his agent Arnold Robinson, in a statement that did not reveal the cause of death. Jones died at his home in Bel Air, California (USA).

“Tonight, with completely broken hearts, we share the news of the passing of our beloved father and brother, Quincy Jones. While it is a tremendous loss for our family, we celebrate the wonderful life he had and know that there will never be another. like him,” the producer’s family said in the statement. “He is truly one of a kind and we will miss him dearly. We are comforted and proud to know that love and joy, the essence of his being, were shared with the world through all he created. Through his music and your boundless love, Quincy Jones’ heart will beat for all eternity.”

Jones personified much of music history: as a teenager he was a friend of Ray Charles, later musical director of Dizzy Gillespie, arranger of Ella Fitzgerald and led Miles Davis’ last major performance, which became the album Miles and Quincy: Live in Montreux.
